| | Associate Provost for Education and Student Life Major Accomplishments
- Chaired the Search Committee for the Dean, College of Health Professions, recruiting an outstanding pool of applicants and ultimately, an outstanding new Dean.
- Participated actively in the successful SACS Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) as an active member of the SACS QEP Committee, including responsibilities for conceptualizing and writing key sections. Provided guidance to and oversight of the Creating Collaborative Care (C3) Director.
- Provided administrative and fiscal leadership to the Division of Education and Student Services. Through team involvement, developed division mission, vision and values statements and a strategic plan. Hired excellent new leadership for the Wellness Center and Administration/Budget Unit. Ensured that the division is fiscally sound and moving to a funding model that supports division-wide strategic goals with individual units developing a broader perspective and sense of purpose. Reports from students and clients about service were positive.
- Supported the National Coalition Building Institute's training program for division staff in support of greater intercultural and interprofessional collaboration with goals to involve more of the MUSC community in the training and in new programming for students.
- Met regularly with the MUSC SGA in support of their initiatives, including greater involvement of students in the policy making process.
- Led the successful implementation of the expanded 2nd Annual Interprofessional Day and instituted a new facilitator training component. Presented the Interprofessional Day outcomes at national meeting of the Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions.
- As Chair of the Education Advisory Committee, oversaw the subcommittee activity required for the conversion of e-Value as the mechanism for student evaluation of faculty and courses. Currently chair groups revising other key policies related to copyright, TEACH Act, Substance Abuse, and Standards of Conduct.
- Provided leadership for a sixth successful year of the Presidential Scholars program for 46 interdisciplinary students.
- Maintained active teaching as a faculty member on the Dean's Rural Clerkship.
- Served the university as chair of the University Education Infrastructure Committee, Education Advisory Committee, Education and Student Services Advisory Committee, Search Committee Dean of College of Health Professions, Interprofessional Day Committee. Member of: Greystone musc.edu Oversight Committee, Clinical Core Requirements Committee, MUSC Childcare Committee, Faculty Convocation Committee, Interprofessional Education Committee, Dean?s Council, COM Education Policy Council, Information Management Council, Dietetic Internship Advisory Committee, SACS Oversight Committee, SACS QEP Committee and CHP Tenure Committee. Served on the statewide Rural Physician Board and was a SACS on-site QEP evaluator.
