Education and Student Life to host financial fitness series 
The Division of Education and Student Life will be hosting a series of presentations on maintaining financial fitness as a student and after graduation. The first of this series is “Using Credit Wisely” which will be presented in the Harper Student Center Auditorium at noon on March 22, 2010. This presentation by Leslie Howard, CSCI, from South Carolina Federal Credit Union, will cover how credit works, credit card usage, and credit pitfalls. Click here to download her presentation.
Ms. Howard’s current position as Marketing Product Manager focuses on social awareness and financial education. With over nine years of experience in banking and finance she is well prepared to discuss the impact of credit management on financial health. She is the South Carolina Credit Union League 2008-2009 Financial Literacy Ambassador of the Year and holds a BS in Finance and Economics from Charleston Southern University.
Topics will include what you should look for in deciding on a credit card, types of credit cards, what creditors look for in a credit applicant, and what employers look for on a credit report. Box lunches will be provided for the first 50 participants.
