New permanent exhibit to hang in
Ashley River Tower... continued

A collaboration with widely diverse, separate entities from across the Charleston area was part of the concept promoted by the architect and Dr. Greenberg. Apart from the panels representing MUSC, the exhibits will include panels representing the South Carolina Aquarium on the second floor, and the Gibbes Museum of Art on the third floor. Sherman Paggi of MUSC Library Services provided the design for the Gibbes Museum of Art exhibit, and Kevin Kempworth of the SC Aquarium staff was responsible for the Aquarium’s panels design.

In all, a total of 58 panels have been produced.

From initial meetings with the committee assembled by Dr. Greenberg, Thomas, Lisa and Susan have been involved in every aspect of creating the display.  During this meeting several critical decisions relating to materials and production methods were discussed and possible methods of construction were decided.

After the initial meeting, they, along with Sherman, had the opportunity to review the public space during the hospital construction.  This gave them the opportunity to gauge the size of the space, to get a feel for the ceiling height and width of the hallway, and to see how the light from the windows would impact the project.
