| Holiday Message from Valerie West Dear Colleagues: As we approach the time people will start taking time off, I wanted to take a moment to wish you all a very happy holiday season. May you be surrounded by loved ones and find time for sharing treasured moments together. Let us all keep perspective on what is truly important in our lives and use this season to celebrate those intangible gifts we are blessed with. I consider working with all of you one of my blessings. As we all know, these are difficult times for us as an institution, but more difficult for those in our community who live daily with their essential needs unmet. In lieu of the gifts I distributed annually to your offices I will make a donation to the Good Cheer Fund and the MUSC Furlough Fund in honor of the Division of Education and Student Services employees. I thank you for the excellent work you do and for the positive manner in which you have handled the most recent news about furloughs and budget cuts. I know this impacts each of you personally. So, enjoy the holiday, hug your loved ones and friends often and well, and see you back here in January! Valerie |
