New permanent exhibit to hang in
Ashley River Tower... continued
They next set about creating a detailed model based on the architectural drawings, fine-tuning the measurements.
In order to gain some sense of the visual impact of the exhibit as it was being created, a brown kraft-paper exhibit was created on the walls of the fourth floor of the Harper Student Center.
These space-holders were then replaced by black and white life-sized drafts of each of the display panels as they were created.
Over a period of weeks the design of these individual panels was modified into a cohesive grouping addressing nearly three hundred years of medical history in the Charleston area.
Life-size black and white mockups were created by piecing together smaller pages to form a complete panel.
The full-size mock-ups were then hung to gain a better feel for their size and composition.
