Application for the College of Medicine

Description

The M.D. degree is designed for students who have completed a baccalaureate degree. In special circumstances, some applicants are eligible to apply with 90 semester hours of undergraduate coursework. Applicants must first apply through AMCAS (American Medical College Application Service) and the MCAT (Medical College Admission Test) is required. International Applicants

International applicants must have a permanent resident visa in order to apply to the regular MD program. This does not apply to those applying to the combined MD/PhD program (MSTP). International applicants lo the MO/PhD program are considered with or without a permanent resident visa. 

Application Process

MUSC College of Medicine participates in the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS). Electronic applications may be accessed through the Association of American Medical Colleges

(AAMC) website at http://www.aamc.org/.

To complete your file for the College of Medicine, a minimum of three, no more than five, individual letters of recommendation (2 from science professors and 1 from a non-science professor) or a pre-medical advisory committee packet must be submitted. Letters of Recommendation should be submitted through AMCAS.

A supplemental application is available online for applicants who have completed the AMCAS application. All applicants must complete the supplemental application for further consideration.
