The Physician Assistant is a licensed health professional qualified by specialized academic and clinical education to perform medical tasks traditionally undertaken by physicians, while practicing with the supervision and responsibility of a licensed physician. PAs provide essential diagnostic, therapeutic, preventative, and health maintenance services in primary and specialty care settings.
1.Submit application through the Physician Assistant Centralized Application Service (CASPA). All requested materials must be submitted by the September 1, 2017 deadline in order to be considered for admission. It is the applicant’s responsibility to review the progress of their CASPA application on the CASPA website. Additional CASPA application questions should be directed to CASPA.
a. Submit Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores through CASPA using the MUSC physician assistant program’s specific code. MUSC CASPA GRE Designated Institution (DI) Code is 2178
b. Submit three references through CASPA. At least one should be from a health care provider, preferably a PA or physician. None should be from family members or friends.
2.Submit a separate supplemental MUSC application through Enrollment Management at MUSC. All requested university application materials must be submitted by the September 1, 2017 deadline in order to be considered for admission. It is the applicant’s responsibility to review the progress of their MUSC application; progress may be seen by viewing http://www.musc.edu/es/application/progress.html. Additional MUSC application questions should be directed to the MUSC Office of Enrollment Management at firstname.lastname@example.org.
3.A minimum cumulative GPA and prerequisite course GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is REQUIRED for consideration. Transcripts from ALL colleges attended must be submitted through CASPA.
4.Complete all prerequisite course requirements by the application deadline. Note that transcripts of ALL courses, including prerequisites, must be submitted to CASPA by the September 1, 2017 deadline to be considered.
In addition the application itself, the applicant must also submit supplemental application materials. Supplemental application forms are available in PDF format with the application, and are also sent through email once an application is submitted. Applicants must submit official transcripts from each post-secondary school attended, and all materials must be received by the application deadline listed below. All application materials must be received by the application deadline. Without all materials, your application will be incomplete.
