Duties

MUSC Alliance for Hispanic Health Officer Duties


PRESIDENT
-    Preside over all meetings and officer meetings
-    Coordinate activities of organization
-    Represent organization at events
-    Create agendas for all meetings
-    Send out reminders prior to all officer meetings

VICE PRESIDENT
-    Preside over meetings and officer meetings in absence of President
-    Represent organization at events if President unable to attend
-    Screen all messages to be sent out over listservs with the exception of minutes, messages from the President, and  Organization Representative reports.
-    Other duties at the discretion of President

SECRETARY
-    Take minutes at all meetings and officer meetings
-    If unable to attend, designate a proxy to take minutes at that meeting
-    Send out meeting minutes to appropriate listserv within one week of meeting

TREASURER
-    Administer over financial well-being of organization
-    Work with Ways and Means Chairperson to organize fundraisers if needed
-    Write requests for grant funding as appropriate
-    Make orders of materials on behalf of organization as requested by other officers
-    Assist event organizers in lunch planning/ordering

HISTORIAN
-    Take pictures at all AHH events throughout year
-    If unable to attend an event, designate a proxy to take pictures at that event
-    Keep an ongoing file of event photos, clips of media coverage, newspaper articles featuring AHH activities, etc.
-    Work with others to place items in scrapbook at year’s end.

PUBLIC RELATIONS COORDINATOR
-    Notify media outlets of upcoming AHH events
-    Create posters/fliers related to upcoming AHH events
-    Work with volunteer coordinator to coordinate members to post fliers
-    Send out Broadcast/Stuinfo notices prior to events and all meetings

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
-    Organize volunteers for community service events and charitable drives
-    Work with Treasurer and Ways and Means Chair to organize fundraiser volunteers
-    Work with Health Fair Chair to organize health fair volunteers
-    Work with PR Coordinator to organize posting of fliers prior to events

COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS COORDINATOR

-    Organize community speakers to speak to MUSC community on issues pertinent to the mission of the AHH
-    Work with Advisor and Treasurer to order lunch to be served during talk

WAYS AND MEANS COMMITTEE CHAIR

-    Organize fundraisers as appropriate
-    Other duties at request of Treasurer and Executive Board

HEALTH FAIR / OUTREACH COMMITTEE CHAIR

-    Contact Liz Sheridan of MUSC Gives Back regularly to seek out appropriate upcoming health fairs
-    Work with Volunteer Coordinator to recruit/organize health fair volunteers
-    Order materials to be used/distributed at health fairs
-    Keep all health fair supplies well-organized and stocked

WEBSITE COMMITTEE CHAIR
-    Keep website up-to-date by posting minutes and performing other updates at the request of Executive Board
-    Seek out useful links to connect to AHH website

BRIDGING THE LANGUAGE  BARRIER COMMITTEE  CHAIR
-    Keep Executive Board aware of new developments in the area of language access
-    Work with Interpreter Services to organize Medical Interpreting Workshops as appropriate
-    Work with appropriate MUSC staff to facilitate implementation of elective and extracurricular Medical Spanish education

REPRESENTATIVES
 (SGA, MSAB, HOLA, OLOM Migrant Task Force, CON HHI, SDC)
-    Serve as the voice of the MUSC AHH in your respective organization
-    Notify organization of upcoming AHH events
-    Attend all organization meetings
-    If unable to attend, ask a fellow AHH member or officer to attend as proxy
-    Send email containing salient upcoming events of your organization and pertinent issues discussed to Officer listserv within 1 week of organization meeting
