Tri-County Project Care is a non-profit organization that provides health insurance and medical coverage for uninsured working individuals. Tri-County's prepayment program is formed around existing area primary and specialty care, clinic and hospital providers who have agreed to care for working uninsured adults at a discounted rate.

This center provides non-emergency care for adults and children, transportation from the 5 major labor camps on John’s Island for a small fee, OBGYN services, family planning, and WIC programs. Some form of id or a “chueca” is required.  Payment can be made on a sliding scale (bring in a pay stub or a letter of income from your employer.) The center also has an outreach program, Migrant Health Program, which provides prescription delivery and medical care to the fields.  In addition, the center provides children’s day care, housing, home health visits, and senior nutrition counseling.

Rural Mission also runs a Migrant Headstart education program for young children, a used clothing store and provides assistance with job placement, dealing with government agencies and helping young people secure funds for education.

Victim Advocate & Crime Prevention Program
North Charleston Police Force

The Victim's Advocacy Unit serves as a liaison between the State and the victim. Advocates help the victim with different aspects of the court system, and are there to give support to the victim and families at crime scenes or at the hospital. They are familiar with all statutes pertaining to victim rights and ensure that those rights are being carried out. They also help victims obtain victim compensation funds.

The goal of the NCPD Victim Advocate is to extend to all victims their specific legal rights and to provide services that will effectively assist them in returning to a pre-crisis level of functioning. For more information, please call (843) 740-2861.
