Not presently taking applications, has excellent resource guide and local support information. Sea Island Comprehensive Health Care 3627 Maybank Highway Johns Island SC 29455 843-559-3676 This center provides non-emergency care for adults and children, transportation from the 5 major labor camps on John’s Island for a small fee, OBGYN services, family planning, and WIC programs. Some form of id or a “chueca” is required. Payment can be made on a sliding scale (bring in a pay stub or a letter of income from your employer.) The center also has an outreach program, Migrant Health Program, which provides prescription delivery and medical care to the fields. In addition, the center provides children’s day care, housing, home health visits, and senior nutrition counseling. Obstetric care including prenatal care is provided for the Hispanic population for free without any requirement. Excellent organization that works specifically with the Hispanic community providing assistance with obtaining food stamps or food, clothing, school supplies, medical help, and paying rent and utility bills. Also provide a Dress for Success program to help people enter the workforce. All members of the family must have a social security number. Organization that helps immigrants obtain an individual tax ID number (ITIN). A ITIN can be used for filing out tax forms including a W2, as well as, used for home rental applications.
