The Psychiatry Graduate Medical Education (GME) Programs are excited to welcome our incoming residents and fellows for 2017-18 across our ACGME accredited residency and fellowship programs. These individuals come from a wide range of U.S. medical institutions spanning from east to west coast, including 3 graduates from MUSC. Over the last 3 years, the psychiatry training program has been continually recognized by U.S. News and World Report/Doximity as one of the Top 5 Psychiatry Programs in the South and this year is # 26 in the nation (out of over 200 programs).
The General Psychiatry (4 YRs.), Combined Internal Medicine & Psychiatry (5 YRs) and Combined Psychiatry & Neurology (6 YRs) are honored to have 17 highly ranked first year residents joining our 3 core training programs this June. Of which 14 will go into General Psychiatry, 2 into Med/Psych and one into Neuro/Psych. The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Program (2 YRs) is excited to welcome 5 residents in July, with 4 coming from our own Psychiatry Program at MUSC.
In July we also will welcome 3 Fellows (2 from MUSC) to the Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship (1 YR) and 2 Fellows to the the Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship Program (1 YR).
Please join us in welcoming our new residents/fellows and wish them continued success as they move to the next stage of their career in psychiatry!
