South Carolina Alpha Chapter

Welcome to the South Carolina Alpha Chapter of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society at the Medical University of South Carolina.

AOA's mission is to be a voice for advocating the highest ethical standards in medicine, for exemplifying professionalism, for recognizing the importance of optimal patient care, and for emphasizing the need for continuing scholarship and academic achievements.

In the News, 2010-11:

  • We hope that you are able to join us for our Spring Banquet on the evening of March 17th.  The night represents a unique opportunity to honor our newly elected members and the recently released results of the 2012 Match. 
  • Please join us in recognizing the following members of the MUSC faculty and staff for their recent election into MUSC's AOA chapter: Drs. Lee Leddy, Rachael Stacey and Marcy Dorlon. We would also like to announce that Emma Carter, Class of 2011, was selected for the Hiram Curry Award.  
  • MUSC and our local Alpha Omega Alpha chapter hosted the annual AIDS Symposium on November 17-18 2011, which was highlighted by this year's AOA lecturer, Dr. Eric Rosenberg.
  • Our Executive Board would like to thank you for visiting our chapter website!  Current board members include: President Bobby Yawn, Vice President Danny Pasko, and Secretary Greer Albergotti.
