| The Charleston Alcohol Research Center is one of fifteen Alcohol Research Centers supported by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, a component of the National Institutes of Health. The goal of the Charleston Alcohol Research Center is to become, through excellence in scientific research, a significant regional and national resource in the pharmacotherapy for alcohol abuse and alcoholism.
Since 1995, our Center has enabled experienced bench scientists to work jointly with clinical researchers on a programmatic line of research - alcohol treatment with an emphasis on pharmacological intervention.
