Location and Contacts
The Charleston Alcohol Research Center is located within the Institute of Psychiatry on the campus of the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). MUSC is located in the heart of downtown Charleston and has occupied its present location, near the Ashley River, since 1913. During that time it has grown from a single building to a 76 acre complex currently occupying 88 buildings encompassing over three million gross square feet of space for teaching, research, and patient care. The Drug Discovery and Bioengineering Buildings, two new buildings under construction across the street from the Institute of Psychiatry, will provide an additional 220,000 square feet of space for translational research and training.
