MUSC Initiative for the Advancement, Recruitment, and Retention of Women (ARROW)
The Center for ARROWS Short Term Teleconferencing Support
ARROWS will provide an iPad loaded with the HIPAA compliant Cisco Jabber Video Client as well as Adobe Connect software for a faculty member to check out and take with them during leave. This will allow the member on leave to hold/attend faculty meetings, lab meetings, student presentations/defenses or other conferences being held on campus. The teleconferencing equipment is currently available to all women faculty. Qualifying events for use of the equipment include:
• Maternity leave
• Medical leave
• Annual leave
• Administrative/Professional leave
*Note: The Center for ARROWS does not promote or encourage individuals to work while on leave. The use of this equipment is provided to allow women faculty to remain connected to their laboratory, students, staff, etc. if needed and if they choose to do so without the need to be
physically present on campus.
The Center for ARROWS External Grant Review Program
ARROWS will arrange for and provide a stipend to an expert in your field of study (outside of MUSC) to complete an NIH style in-depth review of your research grant application. This includes all types of external research grant mechanisms: NIH, VA, DOD, Foundation, etc. To take advantage of this program, please submit a request for external review by filling out this form at least 6-8 weeks prior to application submission deadline. Please submit your completed form to Megan McDonough: email@example.com
The Advisory Boards includes the PI team and ten PhD faculty members representing eight different departments in COM, as well as four external members. Members of the Advisory Boards meet biannually to review ongoing formative evaluations of the implementation and success of ARROWS strategies.
