| Curriculum/Degree Requirements Three components combine to meet the minimum requirement of 130 semester hours requirement for a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree. Previous professional training and science courses: Up to 50 semester hours may be credited for previous health professional education and natural science courses. Of these courses, at least 20 hours will be science or professional science courses. General Education courses: In addition to credit for professional training and sciences courses, up to 40 semester hours of course work (transferred in when approved as college transfer or completed during or after enrollment) will be awarded credit. This consists of 6 hours of English, 3 hours of College Algebra and 31 hours of Social Science, Humanities and electives.

Applicants’ transcripts are individually evaluated and counseling is provided to review specific degree requirements and to design individualized curriculum plans. The majority of BHS courses involve an introductory class session that is held on Friday, Saturday or Sunday early in each semester. All BHS courses have a web-based platform that includes various requirements for communicating and/or submission of assignments. It is expected that for every three semester hour course, students will spend an average of five to eight hours per week engaged in reading, studying, communicating, and completing assignments and assessments. Students who enroll in BHS courses must have access (at home, at work, or through some other source) to a computer, Internet service provider (highspeed connection), and an approved web browser. The approved web browsers are: Netscape Communicator (4.0 or higher) or Microsoft Internet Explorer (4.0 or higher, Java enabled). In addition, students must have access to Microsoft Office 2000 (or higher). Students must also have a basic level of computer skills and knowledge of computer operation.
