Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia Curriculum
Students are instructed for a period of 28 months in accordance with the standards set by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs. The Medical University of South Carolina’s Nurse Anesthesia Program is accredited by the above named Council on Accreditation. Anesthesia for Nurses applicants are required to enroll in the Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia curriculum. Graduates are awarded a Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia degree.

The clinical curriculum offers opportunities for diversified experience in the anesthetic management of elective and emergency surgical procedures. In clinical experience, students will be required to administer anesthesia to a minimum of 600 patients. Experience will be gained in inhalation, intravenous and regional anesthetic agents. These agents will be administered by all of the recognized techniques to a wide variety of patients.

Students gain clinical experience at the MUSC Medical Center, Charleston Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Charleston Naval Hospital, Trident Medical Center, Summerville Medical Center, McLeod Regional Medical Center, Greenville Hospital System, and Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital (Greenville) and other sites.
