General Policies
Employment
Nurse anesthesia students shall not be employed as nurse anesthetists by title or function while in student status preparing to become nurse anesthetists. Employment in other capacities is allowable provided performance in the program is satisfactory.

Departmental Rules
During the clinical residency, each student is considered a member of the anesthesia professional staff and is subject to applicable regulations of hours of attendance, conduct, and personal neatness (including proper attire).

Excused Time Off
For the first 12 months of the program, days off (i.e., holidays) will be in accordance with the University calendar. During the final 15 months, students will observe holidays according to staff responsibilities at each clinical site. In addition, a pool of 20 days will be provided during the clinical phase to be used for sick leave and/or vacation time.
