Creating Collaborative Care (C3) is a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) for the Medical University of South Carolina that focuses on interprofessional education.

• Script Your Future video contest

Do your patients have trouble adhering to their medications?  Wish you could change this to improve their health?  Like making videos?!
Throughout the month of February, SIPS is calling for videos from MUSC student teams highlighting the importance of medication adherence as part of the national Script Your Future challenge.  Videos should be 30-60 seconds long and must incorporate an interprofessional component, either through the team membership or video subject matter.  Completed videos are due before midnight, February 24, 2013 and should be submitted to syfvideo@gmail.com.  The top selected videos will be posted, reviewed and voted on by the MUSC community; 1st place team will receive $200, 2nd place team will receive $100!

• Health & Wellness Fair sponsored by the Tri-Country Black Nurses Association needs YOU! They are hosting a health fair on February 23rd at 265 Fishburne St. to provide screenings, education, and even vaccines for the local community. MUSC will be sponsoring a Medication Adherence booth but there will also be LOTS of opportunities for students to volunteer with BP, diabetes, and cholesterol screenings. • Medication Adherence Community Outreach
  

This is another part of the Script Your Future challenge mentioned above.  SIPS has partnered with community pharmacies to raise awareness on the importance of adherence.  We have SYF wallet cards to hand out as well as other helpful resources for patients.  Studies have shown that nearly 75% of Americans don't always take their medications as directed, which is why this national campaign got started.  Come out on either of these dates - drop in or stay for as long as you'd like.  Thursday Feb. 21st 4:30-6:30 and Tuesday Feb. 26th 9:30-11:30 at the Harris Teeter on Hwy. 17 in West Ashley (975 Savannah Hwy).  Please sign up on the Google doc and contact me if you have any questions (contact information in google doc).  Click here.
