 | Alyssa Averill, Ph.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Instructor. Dr. Alyssa Averill, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, provides mental health services for students two days a week. Dr. Averill previously worked at CAPS as a Clinical Psychology Intern and as a Postdoctoral Fellow. Dr. Averill received her Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Kentucky and has a strong interest in Health Psychology and Behavioral Medicine. |
| Shantee Foster, Ph.D. Shantee Foster has begun a Postdoctoral Fellowship at CAPS. She completed a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and will complete her Doctoral degree in December. She completed her internship at the University of Akron Counseling Center (Ohio). Areas of clinical interest include relationships, anxiety, depression, and identity/ cultural development. |
| Suzanne Smith, Administrative Coordinator, Office Manager Suzanne Smith has joined the CAPS staff as Administrative Assistant and Office Manager. Ms. Smith has worked at MUSC since 2003 and was previously employed as the Medical Student Education Coordinator for the Department of Psychiatry. |
Part-time staff |
Two Masters trained Clinical Psychology Interns who participate in the Medical University of South Carolina / Veterans Administration Internship Consortium, and who provide therapy services under the clinical supervision of Dr. Libet. Seven physicians who are Residents in Psychiatry or in a joint Residency in Medicine and Psychiatry. These Resident Physicians provide therapy services under the supervision of Dr. Libet. Supervision for medication issues is provided by attending physicians in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Barbara Bozarth provides part time administrative support for the CAPS office. |
