Student’s memory will live on

Members of the College of Medicine Class of 2013 gathered April 21 to plant a Magnolia tree as a living memorial honoring deceased classmate Lauren Baccari. Her husband, Greg Baccari, joined Ted James, Tom Cunningham and other students in the planting of the tree, located in the front of the Basic Science Building. As part of commencement week activities, Baccari was posthumously presented with the Hiram Curry Alpha Omega Alpha Award for service. Members of COM’s graduating class also donated $20.13 to the Lauren Baccari Family Medicine fund, which supports activities for students interested in family medicine, her medical career choice.
