MUSC to recognize year of statisticsTweet
The MUSC Department of Public Health Sciences is celebrating the International Year of Statistics with a symposium 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sept. 20, Room 110, Bioengineering Building.
It’s goal is to increase the impact of statistics in people’s lives.
Presentations include functional causal mediation analysis with an application to brain connectivity; role of statistics in the research and career of clinicians and health scientists; key study design; effective collaborative research; and statistical resources at MUSC.
Keynote speakers include Etta Pisano M.D., dean of the College of Medicine; and Martin Lindquist, Ph.D., associate professor, Department of Biostatistics, Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University.
There will be additional presentations by faculty from MUSC and the Univeristy of South Carolina.
Speakers from the Collaborative Unit and Data Coordination Unit at the Department of Public Health Sciences will present on topics designed to help MUSC researchers better understand the role of statistics and statisticians in the undertaking of biomedical research.
