All bicycles need to be locked to racks, not railsTweet
The Office of Parking Management is in the process of redistributing bicycle racks to areas of most use and installing additional racks where needed.
MUSC regulations prohibit locking bicycles to anything other than a bicycle rack. Bicycles secured to other objects, such as posts, fences and rails, are subject to removal by Public Safety. Secure all bikes in accordance with the university policy.
The Office of Parking Management manages the campus bicycle parking program and works with the Student Government Association, Public Safety, the Sustainability Office and the Office of Health Promotion to support the interests of students and employees who use bicycles for the commute to campus and to carry out their campus duties.
