May is Estate Planning Awareness MonthTweet
The Office of Gift Planning at MUSC has designated May as Estate Planning Awareness month at MUSC.
The goal of the month is to create awareness that estate planning is not just for wealthy people and there is more to it than death and taxes.
During May, the Office of Gift Planning will answer questions as well as provide participants with estate planning resources. Every Tuesday and Thursday, the office will feature a broadcast message featuring topics of importance to help employees learn about estate planning and offer answers to important issues such as, “Why an IRA is not a good gift for your heirs” and “What happens when you don’t have a will.”
You may get a head start on your planning now by visiting the online wills planner which is designed to help employees gather the information an attorney will need to plan for the future. The planner will guide participants through a series of questions that will help identify estate assets and financial goals and needs.
The office also offers an informative and helpful e-newsletter that provides information for financial wellness.
