The laboratory of Maria de Fatima Falangola, M.D., PhD, is working to understand the morphological and biophysiological basis behind magnetic resonance quantitative measures (relaxation and diffusion measures) in order to determine their clinical relevance and to establish an approach to correlate magnetic resonance imaging quantitative parameters and histological parameters. This approach will be used to study age-related changes in the brain and neurodegenerative diseases.
