Conference Details


Conference-related expenses, such as room reservations and meals, are already covered. For transportation expenses, each Junior Investigator will be provided with a stipend in the amount of $600. For tax purposes, each Junior Investigator will have to provide his/her full name, home address, and social security number upon registering at the Conference, to receive this stipend.

Conference Format

In the months leading up to the conference, the CCAD Junior Investigators are tasked to prepare grant applications, either individually or in collaboration with other Junior Investigators. On Day 1 of the conference, each proposal will be presented to the group, followed by questions by the CCAD Scientific Board and fellow Junior Investigators. On Day 2 of the conference, the CCAD Scientific Board and Junior Investigators will participate in reviewing the applications. Funding decisions will be made by the CCAD Scientific Board. The awards will be presented following the dinner banquet.

About Charleston

There will be an afternoon break on Day 2 of the conference for some sightseeing around Charleston, voted “Top City in the United States” in the 2011 Conde Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards. The Holy City is known for its charm, history, and world class restaurants, apart from being a wonderful place to live. Please see the following links for more information about our lovely city:
