About Us To help CF patients live longer and live better One Center – Two Programs Welcome to the Cystic Fibrosis Center at the Medical University of South Carolina. We are a full-service center built for the needs of our patients with CF and their families. We provide education and research in addition to expert clinical care. We strive to meet our vision - to be the leader in helping CF patients live longer and live better. Pediatric Program The MUSC CF Pediatric Program is led by Isabel Virella-Lowell, MD and consists of a multi-disciplinary staff dedicated to the needs of CF patients of all ages. Dr. Virella-Lowell is a member of the South Carolina Newborn Screening committee and the MUSC center is well-poised to evaluate and treat patients identified by newborn screening. The team is skilled at the evaluation and treatment of patients from birth, through adolescence, and into early adulthood.
