Complete Biographical Sketch

R. Neal Axon, MD, MSCR is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at MUSC and at the Ralph H. Johnson VAMC. He attended Medical School at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and he completed residency training in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Duke University. He joined the faculty in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics at MUSC in 2005 where he subsequently completed a Master's of Science in Clinical Research in 2008. Dr. Axon's research interests include chronic disease management, health disparities, and implementation science. As a hospital-based physician, Dr. Axon is also active in quality improvement efforts designed to improve care transitions for hospitalized patients.
