Complete Biographical Sketch

Dr. Gebregziabher is an Associate Professor of Biostatistics in the Division of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), and a core investigator with the VA Health Services Research and Development (HSR&D) funded Center for Disease Prevention and Health Interventions for Diverse Populations. His research interests are in the areas of missing data, longitudinal data analysis, fMRI data analysis, mixture modeling and interprofessional research. He works in methodology development for the analysis of longitudinal data from both observational and experimental studies and joint modeling of multiple outcomes. He also develops methods for missing data in both randomized trial and observational studies. His is currently working in functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data that are acquired from clinical application areas with emphasis on development of methods for missing fMRI data in whole brain analysis that leverage the spatial and temporal information in fMRI datasets. He is well published in both methodology development and collaborative translation research including but not limited to areas such as:

  • Comorbidity/multimorbidity modeling
  • Statistics in Epidemiology (Design and analysis of case-control studies)
  • Health Disparities Research, Diabetes, Multiple Myeloma, HIV/TB
