Dr. Arch Mainous

Complete Biographical Sketch

Dr. Mainous grew up in Lexington, KY and received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Kentucky. He received an MA and PhD from the University of Texas at Austin in Social Psychology. In 1990 he joined the faculty in the Department of Family Practice at the University of Kentucky where he served as the Director of Research. In February of 1998 Dr. Mainous joined the Department of Family Medicine at MUSC. He is a Professor in the Departments of Family Medicine and Biostatistics, Bioinformatics and Epidemiology. He currently serves as Director of Research and Fellowship Director in the department of Family Medicine. Dr. Mainous' research interests are diabetes and cardiovascular disease and treatment of respiratory infections.
