As an applied biostatistician, Dr. Nietert focuses his research in the area of health services research. He is heavily involved with Practice Partner Research Network, where several group-randomized trials are currently underway to find ways to improve the quality of care provided in ambulatory care practices throughout the U.S. He is also involved in lung cancer research, where he studies the impact of the latest imaging technologies on diagnosis and management of this disease. Dr. Nietert also directs the Collaborative Unit within the Department of Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, and Epidemiology at MUSC, which is heavily involved with grant development for investigators across the university. |
