In this section you can learn more about key areas in which MUSC Center for Health Disparities Research (CHDR) and the Charleston VA Health Equity and Rural Outreach Innovation Center (HEROIC) are making changes for the better. You can also find out about specific studies and projects, several of which capitalize on technology, such as computer tablets to better connect patients with health providers. We work with many partners to improve outcomes for people with diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), dementia and other challenges, including homelessness.
