The College of Health Professions seeks to achieve national distinction in Health Professions' education, research and service.

As a College dedicated to educating a diverse range of health professionals, we benefit our students, the University, and community through our synergistic approach to creating new knowledge and expertise. Through interprofessional collaboration and innovation, we enrich the learning environment, increase our capacity to conduct research, and augment our ability to provide service. We are a dynamic and responsive college that generates solutions and contributes to the overall health and well-being of the citizens of our state and beyond.

Futurists agree on little in the world, but many believe this: well-prepared health professionals are key to this nation’s future well-being. We offer 10 degree programs from bachelor- to doctoral-level, and many of these are ranked among the best in the country. Our faculty members are well recognized for their excellence as educators, clinicians and researchers and we are leaders in inter-professional education. Our graduates have touched the lives of patients in every corner of South Carolina, and beyond.

Since our founding four decades ago, the world of healthcare has experienced dramatic change. And our health profession professors, researchers, staff and students have kept pace. Indeed, they’ve often led the charge for educational excellence seeking to improve patient diagnosis and care; setting new standards for the healthcare community. We continue to position our graduates to demonstrate the value of their respective professions within the new and model health care delivery systems emerging from health care reform. In recent years, we erected two new buildings and fully renovated another with a goal of integrating cutting edge technology with state of the art education, research, and clinical facilities. In addition, we have recruited a cadre of nationally recognized research faculty, opened the Center for Rehabiltiation Research in Neurological Disorders and doubled the amount of research funding for the College in the last year.

The result: A world-class college, focused on nurturing the best and brightest. Our past informs our future. We hope it can inform yours.
