American Physical Therapy Association's (APTA) Eugene Michels New Investigator Award

Dr. Mark Bowden received the American Physical Therapy Association's Eugene Michels New Investigator Award. This award is given annually to a rising star in Physical Therapy related research and recognizes independent thematic research “that will have a present or future impact upon the profession.”

Dr. Steve Kautz, Chair of the Department of Health Sciences and Research, stated: “This is a great individual accomplishment for Mark but also reflects well on the research program we are all working hard to build in the College. Mark’s award is a true indicator of increasing national prominence for the neurorehabilitation research program, which is one of the key strategic goals for the College. Thus, while Mark deserves full credit for this great accomplishment, I think that the entire College should also be proud of what it represents. I personally could not be more proud of Mark’s accomplishment and wholeheartedly believe that the APTA got it right with this award.”

Drs. Mark Bowden and Lindsay Perry conduct research on a rehabilitation client with emphasis on walking recovery after neurologic injury.
