MUSC Charleston Anesthesia Conference and Alumni Luncheon
In May of 2013, the 26th Annual Charleston Anesthesia Conference brought Nurse Anesthetists from around the nation to enjoy the historic district of Charleston and earn up to 20 continuing education credits.
The conference attracted over 250 attendees that included students, faculty and fellow CRNA’s. Featured education topics included an update from the President of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, Obstetrics in Anesthesia, Leading in Times of Change, Stress and the CRNA, as well as topics concentrating on legal and policy issues.
Also part of the weekend festivities was an AFN Alumni Luncheon cohosted by the MUSC Division of Anesthesia for Nurses and the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs. Faculty and staff welcomed nearly 25 alumni and program highlights included the presentation of the inaugural AFN Distinguished Alumnus Award given to Barry Cranfill, CRNA, MHS, MBA, FAAPM (Class of 1994) and a “Past, Present and Future” presentation of the AFN program given by Dr. Angie Mund, Director to the AFN program.
Please mark your calendar for next year’s conference slated for May 2-4 of 2014 at the DoubleTree Guest Suites in Charleston. We look forward to seeing you there!
