Save the Date for Upcoming Perfusion Devices Workshop

The Medical University of South Carolina Cardiovascular Perfusion Program is proud to announce the Fifteenth Annual Update on Perfusion Devices Workshop October 24-26, 2013 at MUSC’s College of Health Professions.

Join us for presentations on the latest devices available for perfusionists with hands on simulation opportunities! We expect to have several simulation stations available for perfusionists to operate pumps and ancillary equipment in simulated OR environments.

We are pleased to welcome as our keynote speaker for 2013 Bruce E. Searles, CCP, of the State University of New York's Upstate Medical University.  Searles is frequently invited to speak on the subjects of safety in clinical practice, perfusion education, and more recently, on the application of High Fidelity Simulation for the education of perfusion students and the continuing education of clinical perfusionists.

The conference kicks off the evening of Thursday, October 24, at our new conference venue, the Embassy Suites Hotel with the keynote address accompanied by dinner in the hotel ballroom.

Morning presentations by manufacturers will be followed by afternoon breakout sessions, where attendees will have the opportunity to experience the latest technologies from our sponsors. Lunch will be provided prior to the afternoon sessions, and will be accompanied each day by a different speaker on current perfusion issues.

A special highlight of the conference is the Friday evening Alumni Reception at Embassy Suites Hotel hosted by MUSC’s College of Health Professions Office of Alumni Affairs. This will be a great chance to catch up with classmates and friends from your school days!

Immediately following will be a cocktail hour for all attendees, where perfusionists and manufacturers can mingle in a relaxed environment and discuss the day's presentations. Afterward, participants are free to enjoy the rest of the evening in one of Charleston's fine dining establishments downtown, just a short walk from Embassy Suites. Attendees will also have time to sightsee or shop downtown after the conference on Saturday or in between the afternoon and evening events.

We would love to see a great alumni turnout at the conference and look forward to seeing you! To register or for more information see our conference website at this link, or contact Kristina Hill at (843) 792-6505 or hilkri@musc.edu.
