CVP Students Help Kick Cancer at Relay for Life
On April 12, 2013 the MUSC Cardiovascular Perfusion junior class took a pledge to support the fight against cancer by participating in the Relay for Life. The College of Health Professions was one of several area colleges that participated in the event that evening held at Johnson Hagood Stadium from 5:00 p.m.-2:00 a.m. The night was filled with honoring cancer survivors and remembering those loved ones who have passed away. The night started with a walk for all of the participating cancer survivors and was then followed by a musical performance by Cardiovascular Perfusion Program Director, Dr. Joe Sistino and his band WOTA (West of the Ashley). Some of the highlights from the event for the Cardiovascular Perfusion students included winning the shoe race, watching the amazing musical acts and participating in a Harlem Shake video. Overall, the Relay for Life event raised nearly $58,000!
