Beginning August 15, 2013, Dr. Richard Segal, PT, PhD, will assume the position of Chair, Department of Health Professions in the College of Health Professions. A MISSION TO SAVE PERUVIAN CHILDREN

A group of cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, scrub nurses and perfusionists - including Ms. Margaret Relle, a second-year MUSC Cardiovascular Perfusion student, and Ms. Alicia Sievert, Associate Professor Division of Cardiovascular Perfusion - traveled to Lima, Peru, to help save children with congenital heart defects through surgery and to train local medical professionals.  MORE

Sixteen occupational therapy and physical therapy students chose to spend their spring break working in Uganda as volunteers for a trip organized through the Palmetto Medical Initiative. The students traveled 7,400 miles to Masindi, Uganda from May 4-14, 2012.  MORE

Jerome Kevin Burik, MHS, OTR/L, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 12, 2012. He was born on August 13, 1959 in McKees Rock, Pennsylvania, son of Claudia Lusko Burik and the late Jerome Stephen Burik.  MORE
