Peru is known for its natural beauty, rich culture, and historical and mystical sites. Strolling the streets of Lima—Peru’s capital—I saw glimpses of such Peruvian splendor amidst the overwhelming signs of poverty, crime, and homelessness. And yet, while there for a pediatric medical mission trip, I felt safeand hopeful of the progress being made in Peruvian cardiac medicine. MORE

ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGES IN THE PROGRAM
After much deliberation, careful thought, and hours of discussion, the Cardiovascular Perfusion Division separated the academic division and clinical program on December 30, 2012. The decision was made after careful analysis of benchmark data and feedback from students and faculty and much discussion with the appropriate constituent groups. MORE

Hometown: Spartanburg SC; Current City: Charleston SC; Some Background: Graduated from Wofford College with a BS in Biology with Emphasis in Neuroscience, then attended MUSC where I attained a BS in Cardiovascular Perfusion. Directly out of school I went to work for the University of Kentucky for two years, then Duke University for three years. MORE
