DHA ALUM APPOINTED PRESIDENT AND CEO AT CENTRAL GEORGIA HEALTH SYSTEM/THE MEDICAL CENTER OF CENTRAL GEORGIA

The Central Georgia Health System (CGHS) and The Medical Center of Central Georgia (MCCG) announced Ninfa M. Saunders, DHA, MBA, MSN, FACHE as its incoming President and Chief Executive Officer. With almost 40 years of hospital administrative and clinical experience, Dr. Saunders was most recently the President and COO of Virtua Health, the largest health system in southern New Jersey, which operates four hospitals, two rehabilitation centers, senior services, home care, ambulatory and outpatient services.  MORE

DHA ALUM APPOINTED AS CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Michael Ugwueke, MPH, DHA, FACHE, was selected as the new executive vice president and chief operating officer (COO) of Tennessee’s Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare System. Michael is currently senior vice president of Methodist North and South Hospitals, and will begin transitioning to his new role in early 2013. As COO, Michael will provide strategic and operational leadership for adult inpatient hospitals and their affiliated companies.  MORE

DHA ALUM NAMED AS NEW CEO AT DUKE RALEIGH HOSPITAL

Rick Gannotta, NP, DHA, FACHE will be the new CEO of Duke Raleigh Hospital in 2013, after serving in multiple executive operating roles at Duke Raleigh Hospital. Prior to joining Duke in 2006, Gannotta worked for WakeMed's Raleigh campus including roles as senior vice president and administrator, vice president of operations and patient care, chief nursing officer and executive director of the WakeMed Heart Center. He serves as faculty for the Duke University School of Nursing teaching in the health care leadership track.  MORE

DHA ALUM NAMED AS THE ENDOWED PROFESSOR HONORING GENERAL RUSSELL HONORE

The LSU Health Sciences Center School of Public Health in New Orleans received a $100,000 endowed professorship from The AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies (AMFC). DHA Alum Dr. Peggy Honoré, Associate Professor of Public Health, approached them with the opportunity as General Russell Honoré made substantial contributions to the well-being of Louisiana citizens during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.  MORE
