CHEPS Services

The Center for Health Economic and Policy Studies (CHEPS) team has extensive experience in designing and implementing cost benefit and other health economic and policy analyses. CHEPS team members can assist in the development of new research initiatives by developing an economic evaluation component to compliment a research plan and assist with the subsequent analysis.

Additional information can be obtained by contacting the CHEPS office at 843-792-3176 or by emailing us at cheps@musc.edu.

URRF-Based Pro Bono Consults

CHEPS team members are available to provide various forms of pro bono assistance for new research initiatives, including the design of supplementary economic and econometric analyses. From January 2004 through June 2007 CHEPS team members have collectively provided more than 465 consults, totaling over 1,943 hours, to MUSC faculty members, state agency leaders, and nationwide corporate leaders. Many of these consultations have led to grant submissions and continued collaboration across the MUSC campus.

Also, in response to the increased emphasis placed on health economic analysis by many funding agencies, CHEPS team members provide seminars and workshops on applied health econometrics. These seminars and workshops can be targeted to the needs of any audience, whether students, residents, fellows, or research faculty, and can be tailored to the specific needs of any group.

CHEPS Research Luncheons

CHEPS sponsors monthly MUSC research luncheons to provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of data from collaborative projects. It is alo an opportunity for faculty to get feedback on papers and grant proposals. Luncheons typically occur the first Tuesday of every month.  For information on previous or upcoming luncheons, click here. If you would like to present your work at an upcoming luncheon, please contact the CHEPS office at 843-792-3176 or email us at cheps@musc.edu.
