Dress Code

While in the hospital, the Thoracic Surgery office, professional presentations or meetings students will be expected to dress as professionals. This will include lab coats with Cardiovascular Perfusion patch and nametags. (Nametags are also required in the O.R. and cardiac cath lab.) Men will wear ties. (Designated perfusion scrub suits may be worn while in cath labs).

If you need to leave the O.R. for a clinical situation (i.e. emergency in the cath lab), you must wear a yellow cover gown or your lab coat over O.R. scrubs and remove shoe covers, hats, and masks. Upon re-entry into the O.R. you must dispose of the yellow cover in an appropriate laundry bag and change into a fresh O.R. scrub suit.
