This year's American Spinal Injury Association Annual Meeting will be held from May 14-17 in San Antonio, TX.  Three topics that our team will present to the meeting are:

  • Environmental Barriers and Subjective Health among People with Chronic SCI: A Cohort Study
  • Chronic Disease Prevalence among Persons with Traumatic Spinal Cord Injury
  • ER Visits and Related Hospitalizations among Those with Chronic SCI

Summer Student Program
Our summer medical student Janice Davis presented her poster today, November 11, 2013, at the Perry V Halushka Research Day. Her topic was Pre and Post Injury Alcohol Consumption and Smoking Status Among Acute Spinal Cord Injury Participants.

State of Science
Our team attended the American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA) 40th Anniversary Annual Scientific Meeting in Chicago, IL. We co-hosted with MedStar/NRH a pre-course meeting on May 5, 2013 on The State of the Science of Prevention and Management of Secondary Health Conditions in People after Spinal Cord Injury.

Dr. Yue Cao, Research Associate, was one of the panelists for the session on Secondary Conditions and Mortality. 
Dr. Lee Saunders, Research Assistant Professor, was another panelists for the session on Disparities, Surveillance, and Community. 
Dr. James Krause, Professor and Associate Dean, accepted an award on May, 7th 2013. --Read more--
