Master in Health Administration-Executive

Andrea WhiteWe are pleased that you will be joining our incoming students this spring in the Executive MHA program.  We want to welcome you to the Division of Health Administration and Policy at MUSC.  The faculty and staff have been busy preparing for your arrival.  This is the start of our tenth year offering the MHA curriculum in the executive format. We have learned a lot during these past years and are very proud of how the program has progressed.

Let me explain a little about the format of our program and course work. The program is lockstep in nature (meaning courses are taken in a prescribed sequence). Full-time students take three courses per semester; part-time students take two. The program is designed for working healthcare professionals and most students complete the program on a full-time basis.

The on-campus session is scheduled for January 13-17th, 2010. Orientation activities will be held on January 13th. We have a host of important orientation activities scheduled, so please plan to spend the full day with us. Your on-campus classes will be held January 14th-17th, 2010. The on-campus component of HAP-737 Organizational Theory and Behavior will be from 8 a.m. – Noon, and the on-campus component of HAP-705 Health Care Economics will be from 1-5 p.m., Jan 14-17. HAP-735 Health Law and Risk Management is entirely online. Please refer to your plan of study to see which courses you will be enrolled in.

Between now and the time you arrive on campus you may have many questions. An important person to know, if you do not already know her, is Ms. Ann Brown. Ann is the student services coordinator who will be working with you. She also manages the Residential MHA, Anesthesia for Nurses and the Research Administration programs. Please call or email Ann if you  have any questions.

I wish you the best as you begin your studies here at MUSC. We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday January 13th. Please let us know if you have any questions!

Sincerely,

Andrea W. White, Ph.D.
Division Director
