Objectives are to identify the leading causes of pediatric fatalities, relate AAP policies regarding ipecac, describe current thoughts on AC, lavage, and WBI, emumerate indications for potenial adverse effects with IV NAC, and recognize examples of toxins which are often lethal in small doses.
