Kristin - Physical Therapy Student Ambassador
Hey! My name is Kristin Dickman and I'm from Tucson, AZ! I graduated from the University of Florida where I majored in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology.
I grew up in a military family and have lived all around the world but being in Charleston is unlike anything I’ve experienced. I can’t say enough great things about it! I’m also a huge college football fan and bleed orange and blue. Go gators!! Fun fact, one time in high school I had a lock-down because a mountain lion was on campus. Yes, there are mountains (and mountain lions) in the desert.
The College of Health Professions at MUSC really stood out to me compared to other programs. When I came to visit I had the opportunity to talk with current PT students and learn about all that MUSC has to offer from state of the art facilities, to unlimited academic resources, to opportunities for inter-professional collaboration, and amazing university sponsored social activities. I met with professors and could see how dedicated they were to making sure each and every student had the tools to become a successful clinician. Now that I’m here, I have no doubts that the next three years will be unforgettable and that I will leave confident in my abilities as a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
If you haven’t been to Charleston already then you’re missing out. I couldn’t think of a better place to attend graduate school or live as a young professional. Charleston is home to beautiful beaches, amazing shopping and restaurants, and a downtown full of history, festivals, and farmers markets. Definitely be sure to take a trip to visit campus and the city. You won’t want to leave!
