Lauren L. - Master in Health Administration Student Ambassador
Hi! I am Lauren, a first-year Masters in Health Administration student ambassador. I am orginially from Northport, AL where I attended the University of Alabama and majored in Management with a Specialization in Healthcare.Obviously, I am a huge Crimson Tide Fan. ROLL TIDE!!!!!
There are several reasons why I choose MUSC to attend graduate school. First, the Master in Healthcare Administration program is ranked among the top and when coming for an interview I felt it was a great fit for me. Other reasons I decided to attend MUSC and some of those include: the prestige of the school, the location, and developed alumni association, just to name a few. I feel that the networks, connections, and graduate degree in MHA from MUSC will be crucial when obtaining a job that I love in a field I am so patient about. Specifically, I would like to work in long-term care or primary care when I graduate in 2015.
MUSC and the College of Health Professions promote interprofessional relationships which is very important as our health care system experience a great deal of change. Not to mention, our school really promotes diversity and being familiar with other cultures to better care for our patients as a whole.
There are a lot of activities to get involved in Charleston in your free time. Also, there are a lot of restaurants, amazing beaches, and so much history in this beautiful city. I think one of the most important aspects of Charleston that I love is that the people are very friendly, which has meant a lot being from out-of-state.
