Matt - Cardiovascular Perfusion Student Ambassador
Hello, I am Matt. I am a first-year student in the Cardiovascular Perfusion program at MUSC. I attended Ohio State University where I received a degree in History. My hometown is Wakeman, OH. My main hobby is autocross, a very entry level form of auto racing. Lots of fun when I have time to do it. I chose MUSC based on its reputation as one of the top tier perfusion schools and on the recommendation of perfusionists I talked to. There is a huge commitment to research here that I don’t think is found elsewhere, so I think that gives us a deeper understanding of our profession. I really hope to continue that focus on research as I go out into the field.
One thing all applicants should know about CHP is how great our technology is here. I really think it sets us apart from other programs and colleges out there. Had I realized this, my choice to come here would have been even more one-sided. Housing was a challenge for me as an out-of-stater. It was hard to get a feel for where areas of town were located relative to MUSC. I really should have taken advantage of the MUSC housing website and roommate finder, I think it would have been easier for me.
Feel free to email me with any questions.
