Laura R. - Physical Therapy Student Ambassador

My name is Laura R., and I am from Greenville, South Carolina. I attended North Greenville University and majored in Clinical Biology. One of my husband’s and my favorite things to do is to go hiking in the upstate of South Carolina. If you can survive the August heat and humidity in Charleston, the rest of the year is a breeze and is absolutely beautiful!

Everyone should know that the College of Health Professions has passionate faculty members that are dedicated to teaching students evidence-based and cutting edge material.

I chose MUSC because I wanted to stay in South Carolina while earning my Physical Therapy degree. Charleston is one of the most scenic and historic cities in the country, and by choosing MUSC for graduate school, I knew I would be able to experience this beautiful town up-close and personal. The Doctor of Physical Therapy program at MUSC is challenging but enjoyable. The classes and labs teach hands-on skills needed for Physical Therapy practice. Although I am a first-year student, I am already confident that the skills I have learned and will learn in my classes will prepare me well for the profession. I am hoping to work with patients with hearing disorders after I graduate. One of my goals while I am in Physical Therapy school is to do a clinical rotation at the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind in Spartanburg.

I would recommend MUSC to any prospective student who wants to attend a school in an exciting town with a leading Doctor of Physical Therapy program!

I'm happy to answer any questions. Just email me at chpambassador@musc.edu.
