Getting Started

***CITI MIAMI log in will change in late August. MUSC and CITI MIAMI have collaborated to institute a more secure and efficient log in system to CITI that will eliminate the need to create a new username and password combination for access to the CITI training.
Under the new system, all users, whether first time or previously registered, will access CITI MIAMI by using their current MUSC-issued NetID and password. When the CITI MIAMI link (http://www.musc.edu/cgi-bin/citi/login.cgi) is selected, a gray box will open up asking for a NetID and password. Once credentials have been entered, users will be directed to the CITI MIAMI main homepage.

For Non-MUSC users wishing to take the training, they will need to complete the OCIO Non-MUSC application for a NetID. This procedure requires the Non-MUSC individual to be sponsored by an MUSC employee. The sponsor will need to contact the appropriate “registration authority” (Registration authorities: http://www.musc.edu/infoservices/idam/contacts.html) to provision and deliver the NetID.

MUSC and CITI MIAMI have worked diligently to match current users with their NetIDs allowing instant access to their old records. Every effort was made to match current CITI users with their NetIDs. If you experience any issues or have any questions, please contact one of the following:

Questions and Answers

  1. What do I do if I accidentally sign up for the wrong course?

ANSWER: On the grade book page, highlighted in RED, directly under My Courses it says:  "Add a course or update your learner groups for Medical University of South Carolina."   If one clicks on this hyperlink it takes you to the "Groups" page. Click the "Update Groups" button and this returns you to the original "Select Curriculum" page. Here, you can change their selections.

  2. When I open my Citi-Miami account, I am not directed to the Refresher Course.

ANSWER: On the Learner’s Menu, under my courses, the verbiage “Basic /Refresher, Human Subjects Curriculum should appear. There should be a hyperlink entitled “Enter”. This hyperlink should take you to the Refresher 101 course.

If not, return to the Learner’s Menu and locate the hyperlink “Add a Course or Update Your Learner Groups.” On the Groups page select “Update Groups.” You will now be on the Curriculum page. In question #2- Select which basic course you have already completed and push the SUBMIT button at the bottom of the page. Return to the Learner’s Menu and start the course.
