Internship 101

Internship 101 is an elective designed to better prepare you for your new role as an intern.  It is a ‘customized’ elective.  You select those sessions which are of interest to you.  There are over 45 sessions from which to choose. Each session coordinator has provided an overview and learning objectives to aid in your selection process. This information is found in the catalog.

 Internship 101 is offered two times during the year: February 25 - March 8, 2013 (Course Period 1) and March 25 – April 5, 2013 (Course Period 2).  Each course period is a two week period; and, as with other electives, when you fulfill the requirements (see below), you will receive 2.5 credit hours.

REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNSHIP 101

In order to receive 2.5 credit hours for this elective, you are required to complete 30 hours of classroom instruction.  If you elect to schedule both course periods, you are required to complete 60 hours of classroom instruction for 5.0 credit hours.

REGISTERING FOR SESSIONS

Course Period 1:

Registration for  course  period  1  will  be  conducted electronically and  will  open  to  students registered for Internship 101 on Monday, February 4th at 12:00 AM. Until FEBRUARY 10, only those students who are registered for Internship 101, course period 1 will be able to register for sessions. Open registration for all 4th Year Medical Students begins on Monday, February 11th at 12:00 AM. Students who are not registered for Internship 101 course period 1 will have the opportunity to register for individual sessions (based on availability). Registration (add/change) will remain open for all students until February 18th at 11:59 PM.

Changes will not be accepted After February 18th at 11:59 PM.

 Course Period 2:

Registration for  course  period  2  will  be  conducted electronically and  will  open  to  students registered for Internship 101  on  Monday, March  4th  at  12:00  AM.  Until  MARCH 10TH,  only  those  students who  are registered for Internship 101, course period 2 will be able to register for sessions. Open registration for all 4th Year Medical Students begins on Monday, March 11th at 12:00 AM. Students who are not registered for Internship 101 course period 2 will have the opportunity to register for individual sessions (based on availability). Registration (add/change) will remain open for all students until March 18th at 11:59 PM.

Changes will not be accepted after March 18th at 11:59 PM.
